Frank James Meuschke’s first solo exhibition at Minneapolis Rosalux Gallery. Opening reception is from 7-10pm on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019.

This new work is an exploration of the anthropogenic environment of ecological science. The photographs in this exhibit were created while the 2018 artist in residence within Cedar Creek ESR, one of the most significant sites dedicated to ecology science in the world. It was here, in central Minnesota, at the intersection of North America’s three major biomes (Eastern Deciduous Forest, Northern Boreal Forest, and Prairie), where the foundation of modern ecology was conceived in the 1940s. Since then, decades of ongoing research has deepened our understanding of complex ecosystems and their response to anthropogenic stressors such as rising CO2, heat, nitrogen and drought.
